Friendship Defined

January 28, 2010

Two are better than one,

Because they have a good return for their work:

If one falls down,

his friend can help him up.

But pity the man who falls

and has no one to help him up!

Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.

But how can one keep warm alone?

Though one may be overpowered,

two can defend themselves.

A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

That’s one of my favorite verses. I’m not necessarily a people person and that scripture reminds me that I need to keep in touch with other humans.

    Thanks for stopping by, uninvoked.

I am pleased you posted this verse. There is so much conflict and antagonism in the world today, and we need to change that by looking out for each other.

Hal, isn’t that the truth? The world keeps telling us to look out for self. But actually, that’s not very efficient.
