Manic MOB (Mother of the Bride)
by V.V. Denman | @vvdenman
Well, it’s less than two weeks until The Big Day, and wedding has exploded all over my house.
Cake mixes, candles, and glassware have taken over the dining room. Silk flowers cover the game room couch. Bags of shower gifts stand in the living room. And in the master bedroom, my desk lies buried beneath lists, receipts, and sketches.
But that’s not all.
Wedding has exploded in my brain as well.
First thing in the morning and last thing at night, I think of wedding. Sometimes I wake in the wee hours and automatically check items off my mental to-do list.
In the evenings, I fall exhausted into my comfy, cozy place, only to watch My Fair Wedding, Say Yes to the Dress, or Cake Boss. I can’t turn off Netflix, and I can’t turn off my mind.
Fortunately, I’m still having fun, but this is truly getting ridiculous.
Anybody know hypnosis?

Hang in there–and enjoy every minute of the craziness!
Thanks, Anne.
You are such a sweet loving and Godly mother! My mom told me about your blog so of course I had to come read, and I am in tears over your sweet words. When the time comes for wedding I’ll be hopping on over here to get refreshers from your wise words. It’s going to be a beautiful wedding!
Oh, Amanda, thank you. This is the most fun I’ve had since I started blogging. I can’t imagine what I’ll blog about when all the wedding stuff is over. Thanks for visiting. And have a great day!
Varina,
What a joy! These are the memories that MAKE life, the ones you will be telling Jessica’s children when they are teenagers. I know its been a ton of work, but how much fun. Few MOBS get to participate in their daughter’s wedding on this level and although tired you have made it happen and having a blast doing it. Your words have teared me up. I can’t wait to see and the family and your beautiful Jessica walk down the aisle. It seems such a short time ago I was at the hospital when you gave birth to her…
Thank you so much. Your words are sweet, and I can’t wait to see you. One week!
